Review of Black Butler

Unlike other "dark" animes, I consider this one of the darkest I've seen. What other show has a demon butler, a 13 year old boy seeking revenge, an angel as the main enemy, and a 14 year old snob drowning in his own greed? Whether this anime has some humerous moments, it is obvious that funny is not what the creator intended for this original masterpiece. I thought it was slow at the beginning of both seasons, however, the plot line quickly picked up pace and thus, the story of Ciel Phantomhive became one of my favorites. It is definitely not an animeI would recommend for those looking for action/suspense/thriller. Yes, there are a handful of duels and its share of blood baths, but the plot line has more of a conceptual focus rather than a physical action focus. I loved the consistency of this anime. Famous quotes are always repeated, and the characters even have their signature gestures that make them unique and real. After all, what kind of anime would it be if they weren't?

I highly recommend this anime to those looking to think outside the box ;)
