Note this is a review for both seasons one and 2 of Black Lagoon because in my eyes there is only one season of Black Lagoon as there is no continuously ongoing story only 3-4 episode arcs! Criteria Story: 7 There Really is no ‘solid story’ to Black Lagoon, as its basically separated into 3 episode arc each with their own ‘small story’ however there is no bigger picture, like small events that happen in each arc that are supposed to lead up to the final arc. Each arc completely differs from the other in terms of plot, scenes and story. If there was really any generalstory it would be about a man named ‘Rock’ who is one day taken for hostage/ransom whilst traveling aboard a boat. He then finds friendship among his kidnappers and joins them upon there many ‘adventures’

Ending: 5
Really average ending seeing as it’s technically just an ending to arc, there was no build up, no mystery, no cliffhanger, it just ends

Solid Plot: 8
The plot is as solid a it gets seeing as they only have to worry about 3-4 episodes worth of plot/story.

Moral: 5
The only one I could make out of this anime was that no matter who you are or where you are you’re on a ‘side’ whether you’re for or against or on the sideline, life will be much easier for you once you realize whose side your on.

Sense: 5
This anime makes ABSOLUTELY NO sense at all. For starters on one of the arc there is an enemy who is basically portrayed as the terminator and can neat die. For example in a room where she drops about 20 grenades from under her dress she so happens to walk out of the fiery building unscathed. For an anime that is based in the real world the laws of ‘death’ surely do not apply.

Music: 6
Really boring music didn't like it out of the whole 24 episodes the music did not change once. The intros and outros remained exactly the same. The music was also not complimentary to the mood of the scene as I couldn't even tell if there was some sort of sound track playing to amplify the mood.

Art: 7
The art was good to say the least. Nice art, nice drawing and at least not every main character looked the same.

Characters: 6
Don’t get me started on the characters because I really disliked them. Especially since there was basically no character development whatsoever; Rock is as much of a cry baby from day as he is until the last episode. A high-schooler has more balls than him. Also Revy’s gun skills remain the same all the way till the last episode. There is no emotional development or physical development.

Boredom/Captivation Scale: 7
If it was for the action scenes I would have left this anime a long, long, long time ago because it just didn't do it for me.

Personal Score: 5
If you’re not into anime that only focus on 3-4 episode story lines and plots then I don’t recommend this anime, however if you are than this anime is perfect for you.
Lastly I would not watch this anime again and I do not recommend it to those who like a good story/plot.
However if you are going to watch it the best Arc of all the 7 arcs is definitely episodes 13-15 (inclusive) ‘Vampire’ Arc and 16-18 (Inclusive) Assassins Arc

Genres
Action: 8
Great Action scenes, only thing that kept me watching.
