Review of Gintama

Gintama is an amazing show. I wasn't particularly impressed with the first few episodes myself at the beginning of the show. The beginning of Gintama is a slow start. If you're looking for a masterfully crafted story and an amazing linear plot, then Gintama is not what you're looking for. It is however, a master of character interactions and writing. The biggest strength of Gintama is it's characters. Every character in Gintama is unique and feel human. Every character is fleshed out and you understand their motivation, their backgrounds, their personality and their circumstances. They're all extremely well written and memorable. The beginning episodes ofGintama might seem boring in the beginning but you value them more and more once you begin progressing through the story.The story of Gintama is amazing as well, but there are no exposition dumps or as such. Gintama's story is spread out throughout it's multiple seasons and is often in sporadic bursts. It has one of the best settings in anime in my opinion with some outstanding comedy present. The animation is often wonky but for the serious moments and arcs, it shines through. The OST's in my opinion are amazing and are used at the perfect moments. I still listen to them from time to time. No it's not a perfect show, it doesn't have the best comedy , it doesn't have the best story, it doesn't have the best animation but it has the best cast of characters in all of anime which led to it being my favourite show. I would highly recommend watching this amazing show.
