Review of [Oshi No Ko]
Ignoring the fact that an almost 30 year old Doctor is obsessed with a 16 year old teenage girl, it is a captivating and promising start, however the series after its second episode takes a huge dip in content. It continues to criticize the entertainment industry in a good way and puts us in the shoes of young promises that go through problems due to the industry, in some episodes the content explained is TOO heavy so in the end it means nothing and does not mark a before and after in the story. But the plot that got me and I'm sure many others toowas the revenge and the unknowns behind AI's murder, at that point the series falters too much, it runs very slow or is almost null in the rest of the episodes, there is romance and therefore opens the doors to love triangles and typical teen romcom drama. The ROMCOM genre is one of my favorite, but being objective, here it seems a bit forced to me not because it's poorly written but because I see it as unnecessary given the actual premise of the series.
There's nothing wrong with the teen drama and the typical tropes of love affairs and love triangles, but it seems to be the only highlight of the series leaving behind more interesting and deeper things, that's why I can't help but think it's just another episode of Kaguya-Sama, the series seems to strongly criticize the entertainment industry but I felt it gave more importance to nonsense like romance and that doesn't look very good in a series with such an interesting premise and revenge as an abrupt element..
The romance and teen drama ruin the true potential of the series, it's like it resorts to the usual and forgets its true value, I'm actually kind of disappointed.
Talking about the production in general, it is flawless in every episode. Excellent direction, animation and music, no complaints at all.
