Overall score: 7 Man, really makes you think that the two entries battling it out for supremacy on MAL are both worth a 7 in my book, although I have a slight preference towards this one. I thought my opinion changed drastically between my first watch back when season one and two first aired and now, my second watch. Turns out I didn't change all that much in this time, although I did get a lot more patient. If anything, this is what I took away from watching Kaguya sama: Love is War season 2. There really isn't much to say, Kaguya sama does what Kaguya sama doesbest, and depending on how you feel about the concept, it may be just as great as usual or it may just have run its course.

In my case, it's the latter. Although, if Kaguya sama season 4 comes out, I will watch it, and probably be just as bored as I currently am, not particularly because I have a completionist spirit, nor am I particularly invested in Kaguya and Miyuki's relationship (although I'm hyped for my boy Ishigami). Both are great characters but the romance between them is lost on me at this point.

The reason I'll stay for season 4 is because this series, while being fairly average for half if not more of its runtime will always one that one event, that one story arc where a buildup you may or may not notice will bare its fruits. And when it does, the anime straight up gets magical.

That was Kaguya sama, a solid show, it used some very unique tools when it comes to comedy and anime in general, but by season two, they may have relied too much on them with very little relevant novelty. All that to say, if you like it you'll like it, if you don't you won't.
