Review of Dan Da Dan
One of the hardest things to do when creating a story is knowing how to balance all the dissonant elements and/or elements that don't necessarily "fit together", by simple logic. Therefore, it is very interesting to see an anime that combines shonen action, yokai, spirits, aliens, modernity, drama and romance, has managed to do this so well. Everything seems to fit, even though they shouldn't, but it works, somehow. As for everything not related to the plot: A lively, charismatic and dissonantly uniform look; Charismatic characters with just the right amount of depth, not too much so that there is drama where there shouldn't be, not toolittle so that we don't care;
Perhaps some of the best original soundtracks of the year;
And not least, animation and direction that brings all these elements together into something extremely pleasurable to watch.
