This show has been my comfort food every season it's on, delivering sweetness and humor with a touch of action and adventure thrown in for good measure, and while that would be enough to give it pretty high marks regardless, this is also one of those series that has always managed to up the ante in some way. Each of the first two cours gave me something to fawn over, including what is still the strongest emotional moment of the series so far in the first (asshole made Anya cry!) and the most epic game of doubles dennis in the second. These ensure that theshow always impresses.

This season is no exception. If anything, it is more exceptional. It's not just that it balances all the aforementioned elements, but that it has a string of episodes that go incredibly hard on a cruise ship, all of which simultaneously give Yor a lot of attention. I've liked a great deal of her characterization before, but getting to spend more time with her on the job as a bodyguard really gives her every opportunity to shine in her physicality, her empathy and, yes, also in her humor. It's not quite the tour de force when it comes to Lloyd or Anya, both of whom have gotten more attention last season, but it gives Bond some great moments, including leaving off with an episode showcasing how he is definitively the best boy.

Much of the season is just peak Spy x Family all around, and while it doesn't quite make my best of season, it is easily my most enjoyable watch. Yes, it's not a central narrative-driven story with serious stakes beyond those examined early on, but that's why this story is more of a slice of life comedy than it is a drama - it's a meandering journey toward a far off destination, and I'll continue to enjoy the ride.
