I finally got around to watching One Off, the anime that had been sitting on my list for years. It’s a simple story about Haruno, a girl who’s given up on all her dreams and drifts through life alongside her friends—until Cynthia moves into her house and everything begins to change. If you enjoyed Super Cub or Yuru Camp, you’ll probably love this one. Fair warning: a few of Cynthia’s scenes lean into mild fanservice, which might turn off more casual viewers. Even so, the series works, and it manages to land some genuinely touching moments. Plus, it’s only four OVAs, so it flies by. Side note:this is the first anime I’ve finished in 2026. Since I’m planning to rate everything I watch this year, I’m giving it an 8 out of 10.
