Review of Rumbling Hearts
So after watching Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, or just Rumbling Hearts, I have to say that while there were ups and downs, I was pleasantly pleased watching the show. I didn't have many expectations at first, as my first impressions were of another bland MC with a love triangle, fixated on his mismatching feelings, though while the plot is partially that, I felt it was executed perfectly. From all the many casual romances I've seen recently, I truly believe this one is among the best true representations of real emotional challenges in love, as I feel the actions of many of the characters were trulyjustified, and even the plot didn't feel too rushed or exaggerated.
The story never drifted away or fixated too much on characters, as I feel from the character development to overall screen time, each character really felt like they each had their own individualism. As much as I love to say all the positives of the show, I don't feel like rating it any higher, as my main concern wasn't entirely related to the actual story, as I feel the storytelling and plot were written very well, but as a viewer, I did occasionally feel rather bored watching from time to time, as, for example, I partially feel Haruka's character following the later events in the story, along with the time skip, did feel rather offsetting from the early first episodes of the show, where the casual school romance with comedic elements turned rather self-centered on more serious adult life topics and felt rather downputting as the show went on.
All together, whether I'd recommend it or not, I'd still say yes. I feel this show is rather underrated for what it's worth, as in the end I did more or less enjoy the show and wouldn't put too much focus on the negative, as I feel the bigger picture of the story as a whole is still something well put together and should be rightfully enjoyed.
