Trash. is not a well written manga by any means. Characters are telegraphed as "evil" quickly, children are often times portrayed sexually, death is almost guarenteed, and attachment to characters are almost frowned upon, as lasting more than a volume is rare, unless you're an assassin. However, this has to be one of the most interesting reads I've picked up recently. Would i reccomend it to friends? Absolutely not, the themes portrayed are often times far too dark and disturbing, but thats what makes it , 'appealing', so to say. Seeing the dregs of society being punished by our lead characters is often times refreshing, asthey lack the hubris of moral code or any such thing refraining them from turing the bad guy into a mess of viscera and gore. However, many characters are not given the morally gray ambiguity in their actions as many manga do, cementing them as truly evil and making their murder something to not think about at all.

The main characters are some of my favourite. Bullet and Francesca have complete apathy to their situation, and their backstories are interesting enough for you to be interested when they reveal parts about them. Their worldview and interactions with other characters is the main reason to keep reading, as they harbour two very different ideas about life.

Surprisingly, atleast to me, this poorly written story has managed to maintain its shock factor throughout, which is a surprise to me as many manga often cram it down the readers throat so often it becomes simply another story beat instead of a real shock. Many times I felt actually upset from the actions of the fictional characters, which even dead tube hasn't managed to spark within me, which adds alot to the experience.

My major gripe with the whole manga is how the story just feels like a conduit to guide the characters from A to B. Nothing really matters because its blown away, so the story doesnt have many lasting effects, but i assume thats what to be expected with manga of this caliber.

Overall even if it was simply made for the sake of death and justifying said gore, i enjoyed it a bunch.
