What is romance? Part of it is mystery and anticipation. I feel like Ane Naru Mono perfectly executes these two elements. In addition, it makes an already (I believe) worn out, overused category of anime new and interesting without any relatively new themes. I made this short review completely spolier free, as it only analyzes themes and aspects of the manga! Well for starters, Ane Naru Mono perfectly blends its art style with the atmosphere of the story. Each stroke and line is handled with care and dignity. The atmosphere is usually calm but its minor tone changes are handled perfectly with difference in artistic touch. In addition, the slow build and mystery on the underlining characters are handled perfectly. Every chapter, you can see how their relationship develops and every time more and more of their back story is revealed. Although there is a lot of cliches and a lot a lot of fan service, they don't interfere with the development of the story. In fact, often are used a stepping stones for later development. If you are a reader who wants good art, a new interesting romance, or a slow build, with a common pre-text of anime tropes in your next read, you should give Ane Naru Mono a try!
