Reading this manga is almost like watching the news. In a country you've never heard of, women are kidnapped and sold. Children are trained to shoot guns and kill. And foreign people are fighting for financial gain. "The events recorded in this manga are based off of the state of the world in the time it was written." Story: The protagonist works as a consultant at a mercenary company. He gives orders, and the fighters obey them. Honestly I thought it was gonna be boring. Because it's the real world, and in our time. But this story does a surprisingly good job by taking thingslike child soldiers and rebels, and turning it into an actually enjoyable story. Whilst the story takes a few questionable turns, it's remains interesting and delivers a story with a strong inspiration of the real world.

And something to praise really is the elements of "good" and "evil". Because, just like real life, USA is pretending to be the World Police, and rebels are pretending to actually care about the population. In other words, there is no "good". Everyone is war crazed idiots fighting for their own "righteousness". Just like real life.

Art: The art is so good. Quality as a whole is very high. But the details for small things, like the hands and hair and so on is surprisingly good. The huge plus here, is the character designs and facial expressions. And it's not a story where everyone is of a similar age. It might seem like a stupid thing to commented about, but actually having diversity is just really enjoyable.

Characters: An american named Omar, along with the Nipponese protagonist called Arata, makes for a surprisingly nice combo.
I believe the protagonist is generally likable. He's not exactly evil, but his job is to give orders to kill people, and he's damn good at it. And in this story, set in the real world, we have a blond girl with elf ears.

Overall. This story is extremely serious, but it's probably not the type that too many people would enjoy. It's not like a war between humans and demons. This is a realistic warfare story played out in a part of the world that honestly, no one cares about. But I do like those uncomfortable stories that makes you think.
PS: The story changes geographical position too much and unfortunately makes the story lose impact. It also becomes more unrealistic as the story goes on.
