Review of Mob Psycho 100 II

The second season of Mob Psycho is undoubtedly an enjoyable watch, delivering the same fluid animation, epic battles and surprise emotional complexity but it never quite hits the highs of the first season and in some senses, just feels more like a retread than a true sequel. I much preferred the way the first season was structured even if it squandered some of its best moments in the name of silly comedy and while I am not a big fan of One constantly subverting epic moments into punchlines, at least at times the first season was genuinely laugh out loud hilarious which is something Idon't think I can say about the second season at all.

I dunno, I guess the first season set such a high bar that disappointment was inevitable, at least it was not as much of a colossal insult like the second season of One Punch Man is I guess?
