Review of Devilman: Crybaby

This review may have spoilers. I loved so much devilman and I wanted to watch devilman crybaby because I thought it would make me feel the same emotions, I felt emotions, hate and indignation towards this anime that hit me deeply, big mistake and I can't understand how people like this. I found the story of crybaby very confusing because it should be a DIFFERENT adaptation from the manga history, but it just looks like a very bad copy of devilman that add characters or change personality and aspect to characters already existing in the manga of go nagai or they change combat envioronments very often suchakira vs silene(in the manga they fought in a remote forest while in the anime they fought in the city, now someone explains to me how literally no one has seen them), they even change or add traits of history just to justify the different adaptation, but now let's forget about the manga history because it seems like I hate crybaby because it doesn't fully follow the manga, the idea of making a different adaptation is not wrong at all BUT if you really want to do it you have to do it well because all the choices they have made are wrong from the start and make no sense, you shouldn't focus the anime on athletics too if you don't even know how people run, too many unwarranted reactions from everyone(and when I say everyone I really mean everyone, an exemple could be people who for no apparent reason possess firearms killing anyone who stands in front of them, the military who go around with tanks destroying buildings and killing people everywhere when they find out that demons exist, in the manga it makes sense because everything is justified but in the anime everything is "justified" with someone turning into a demon in an important international competition), so we understand, nothing makes sense because nothing is justified, or in rare cases it is justified with weak reasons.

Now I will talk about the characters but here unlike the story I will focus very little on all the characters and a little bit more on an important character and an almost insignificant one.
All the characters suck in different ways, miki is always happy at any point in the anime except one which is a spoiler and she doesn't ask herself when she sees Akira jumping from one balcony to another, it's all normal for her; Silene goes from being a valiant warrior and excellent strategist to a kind of succubus, akira's father ends up being jinmen, the face of tare is almost the same as akira's face.
But now I will finally focus on the two characters I wanted to focus on or this review will last at least endlessly, the first one I want to talk about is ryo:
Ryo is the worst character ever in this anime, he speaks of the existence of demons without showing any kind of proof, he knows characters that he shouldn't know at all at that time, he's presented as a crazy guy who makes random choices and he doesn't present a shred of emotion even if he says he is afraid of something he doesn't present any physical, facial or emotional traits by which you viewer can understand that ryo is afraid of something; the second character I'm going to talk about is miki's cat, that's right, that black cat. Excuse me if I do this spoiler even if it is completely insignificant and nonsense, anyway when the cat get stabbed he turns into a demon, who is apparently a devilman since he is classified as such, this thing can talk and he also know something he shouldn't know. It makes no sense because devilman means a demon who possesses reason and a non-evil human soul and I don't think that cat has either of these two things, also because in my opinion there is a bit of a difference between a cat and a human being.

Character: 0/10

The art sucks, I don't care if that's the style but at certain moments the characters seem like drafts, in the first episode you can clearly see koda walking from a standstill, the athletes running badly and we don't need to talk about akira chewing and swallowing food.

Art: 1/10

The sound is quite good, the ost are mediocre apart from devilman no uta which is really good, I don't like the opening and the ending.

Sound: 6/10

All the episodes made me sick except one part of episode 8.

Enjoyment: 2/10
