Review of Parasyte: The Maxim

Parasytes took control of human bodies. When a parasite attempts to take over Shinji (our main protagonist), he stops it in his arm so the parasite couldn't take control of his brain. Later on, he finds out that the parasite he stopped became his right arm, not just that but that parasite learned to talk in just one day. Together with his right arm (the parasite, he named Mig) goes on a search of the creation of this parasite, while encounters a lot of mystery and gore. SPOILERS!!!! Story: I really enjoyed this short story of an ordinary high school student whose right arm isa Parasite. The story develops with the main character when we first meet Shinji we see him as a shy weak teenager, but in the end, Shinji is like another man he became strong, charismatic, and ultimately a girl magnet 😂.

Now the bad part...there is a girl named Satomi witch will be Shinji's love interest. Now I'm sorry to say but I really hated this character she is so dumb like her actions just don't match a normal high school student. The only purpose she serves is to ask the protagonist a million times if, and why, he has changed. This is almost literally the subject of every convo she has with almost every character she encounters.

Animation: I really enjoyed the animation I thought that it was just ok for this anime. The action scenes were not the best but I think it's good enough. Also, a big disclaimer if someone wanna start this and really hate gore, blood, and parasites inside people then please don't watch it.

Sound: Ok now here we go...I really hate madhouse for this. There is one soundtrack that they ABUSE in every episode...at the end, I was soo full with this soundtrack that I really wanted to end this just because of that. It's not a bad soundtrack don't get me wrong but it is like irritating AF after 20 ep..every time something sudden or mysterious happens that soundtrack starts playing...

Characters: Shinji's character as I said evolves a lot so I really like him seeing what suffering and seeing his own mother die made him like that at the end. Other characters are ok too I really enjoyed Fukami the complete opposite of Shinji. As said Satomi meh, Miki with a K was a weird one for sure but interesting.

Overall: If you are not afraid of parasites and gore then I really recommend you to start watching this anime give it a try there are not so good parts but in the end, this show makes some interesting questions about being Human and respecting other living things.
