Review of A Place Further Than The Universe
Story: It's a slice of life anime. The plot isn't that complicated, what keeps you interested is the character development. It's the story of four girls going on a trip to Antarctica and learning to enjoy their lifes. A very simple and heart warming story. At first I wasn't sure why the anime would reveal that they would make it to Antarctica in its opening, but as the anime progressed I understood that the story wasn't about them going or not, but about the reasons each one of the girls had to go away and how they would change. Learning how to deal with the lost ofa loved one, how to deal with bullying, how to make friends, how to be more independente, how to take care of others feelings, those are the real questions of the anime.
Art:
The art concept is very beautifull. Everything is done with so much care. From the design of the clothes to the designs of the rooms. Absolutely lovely. As I am a very annoying person I will not give it an 10. Some of the scenes felt a little too computerized. Yes, I am talikng about the boat.
Sound:
The sound was good. The opening music is like a prelude to a calm day. The ending music can make us sad but sustain the heart warming feeling of the anime.
Character:
The characters were all very charming. Even the obnoxious Mari is rather cute. She has that main character attitude common to anime girls of not minding her surroundings, being aloof, but it isn't that exaggerated.
All the girls have their little problems to overcome and the result is na amazing charcter development. What a beautiful scene was the one with the inbox!
Enjoyment:
I cried, I laughed, what an anime!
Overall:
I recommend this anime! It's a must watch!
