This review is not going to be that in-depth i just have some beef with Jojo part 5 that i just want to get off my chest. I'm not going to say that it is overrated or crap, but i just wasn't a huge fan of where they took this turn, this isn't just the fault of the anime because i read the manga and it does a good job in terms of adaptation. I don't really mind the story that much but the characters in my opinion are pretty shallow compared to other jojo characters. Outside of two characters in particular, the others aren't thatinteresting to me outside of their designs, they have quirks sure but i just don't feel for their characters as much since 90% of Golden Wind is just them fighting people. Most of them mold into each other, they all are gangsters so they are all kind of rough n tuff, but they are also super smart when they are in battles,i cant really tell what their forte and their weaknesses are from fights unlike other Jojo parts.Hell i would argue that i know more about the villains than the main group. Even if they are kinda shallow themselves in personality, i can't ignore just how freaking creepy and weird they were, some of these villains would even make Dio tell them to take it easy.

The mastermind of all of them is pretty underwhelming because all he does is just sit in front of his WindowsXP desktop literally shrouded in darkness for three fourths of the anime. I don't know much about him and when he explains why he's doing all this stuff, his story pales in comparison to all the other backstories. Speaking of which, the characters, ill start with the two best characters in part 5, Bruno and Trish. What makes Bruno stand out is that he is the only character who feels like he is imperfect and it's more satisfying to see him solve his way out of predicaments, and when he pushes past his limits so many times and starts to fall apart , i just can't help but feel for the pain , physically and mentally, that he is enduring. There are points where you feel like the responsibility of his gang starts weigh down on him. And to be honest, i really think that the story should have just been focused around him instead of Giorno.I'll get to him later. The reason I love Trish too is more so to do with the actions in the show, no spoilers but when she takes her trope of damsel in distress and turns it on its head , a badass is born. That's all I'm gonna say about her.I wish she did much more, because when she is first introduced, she barely does anything and when she starts doing stuff, the show almost ends.

But anyways, the rest of the characters, Giorno's full name Giorno "Overpowered" Giovana, his stand can turn anything into anything and it's basically broken, no shade towards him but he feels like an OC made my by a twelve year old jojo fan. He has no emotions, he has almost no weaknesses, and he can save almost anyone, and when he's in trouble, his friends save him, and when his friends save him in a fight, the fight is basically over.Abbacchio was kind of an asshole, he wasn't like that all the time, his backstory was sad but the other characters had backstories too that were just as tragic and at times i just wanted to tell him to get the pole out of his ass and stop bullying 15 year old boys. I feel like people will hate me for saying that because he is cool,(if you have a cool design and are an asshole, I guess you are considered cool).Mista was alright, i liked how his design, his stand, and his weird superstitious behavior kinda made him the clown of the group, but to be straight with you, the only thing i think about when i think of Mista are the crazy ass talking bullets from his stand Sex Pistol-oops i mean Six Bullets(im not trying to be DMCA'd here yknow). We got Fugo who probably one of the worst characters in jojo history ive seen so far. What the hell was with his character? He did only one thing in the entire show and he still was a nuisance. Also there's the kid, I can't remember his name off the top of my head-oh Narancia. He is just the trope of the rough and tuff young kid, but half baked since his oblivious and gullible nature contradicts his actions in fights,i think it would be better if he got through more battles through being headstrong and his weakness could be the fact that he is reckless at times. But hey that's just me.Outside of that i really don't remember much about him.

alright my other grips are gonna be short and sweet because this review is long enough, the battles are the most complex ones in jojo so far but they get so complex that it can be so damn hard to follow. For example the final battle in jojo part 5 was just insanely difficult to comprehend that i still was confused and i saw this anime twice AND read the manga.Call me dumb or whatever but i still think it was ridiculous. Also some of the character deaths felt very cliche even for jojo, one of the death scenes even had a really out of place monologue before it.And you could see it coming a mile away. But everything else is standard fare, Giorno’s theme is the only bit of music I remember from the ost,but whatever, its still a solid show but as for me I just didn't feel that much of a spark as I did with part 4 or even 3 for that matter. I'm on crack, I know.

Overall-7
