Kekkai Sensen is in fact an extremely confusing anime, both to watch and to evaluate. Because you know, he's really fun to watch, but if you think about it he has a lot of script holes and inconsistencies that would make me score 3 for an anime, but with this anime it's different, for some reason the inconsistencies are a charm that make me think how crazy New York is. All of this matches Kekkai Sensen's phenomenal direction. When I say "it is very sad to see that an anime with such a perfect ending and opening and such well done episodes is bad", it isnot a mere joke, the direction of this anime is extremely absurdly wonderful, the fight scenes, all plans in scenes of conversations, the way the city is seen and presented are perfect, everything is beautiful to see. Putting all this visual beauty together comes the absurdly well-made sound side of this anime. The soundtrack can easily generate climates with the right tension, use classic music or calm soundtracks in moments of crazy action to create an epic mood, all perfectly.

Finally you combine all this with charismatic characters and that's it. A good part of the members of Libra manage to generate a good atmosphere, with good jokes, scenes of cooperation with the protagonist being funny or in their own way of solving things in this crazy world. But unfortunately not everyone is like that, I can count on the fingers of one hand just how many characters are in fact constant and actually present to the point that I care about them (Leo, Zapp, White), not saying that the others are bad, it is just that these characters in particular are much better than most of them that even screen time does not have, but they are part of the main group (Chain, Zed, Steven). Stopping to analyze it a bit, it's even cool that the "focused" characters are simple people, like the hamburger monster (one of my favorite episodes) to White and even the protagonist, because with them a parallel is created between the humanity and the madness of the city.

There, the Kekkai sensen mix is ready, it has wonderful music, characters, direction and animation, but what is missing? Ah, it's the plot. So, there is not much to say about this part of the anime. It's pretty weak, period. There is nothing too much, nothing less, she manages to keep you watching the series, but even so the reason to keep you going will always be wanting to see the city's bizarre situations and the main group's reaction.

Finally I can say that I had a lot of fun watching Kekkai sensen, his excellent production and friendly characters (seriously, the ending of this anime is absurdly good, my favorite ending easily), they managed to make me have fun and get lost in Hellsalem's Lot.

Note: 7.25
