Review of Samurai Champloo

One day I'm scrolling through looking for a good show to watch after finishing Cowboy Bebop, and I happen to come across this absolute gem. Samurai Champloo combines the amazing characters, an outstanding soundtrack, and suave fights that create an atmosphere that you don't usually find when watching "samurai" anime. The script is well thought out and silky smooth to the ear, in fact, this is one of the few anime I actually enjoyed the dub for. The actors did an amazing job with the delivery of their lines which really pulls you into the story creating an atmosphere that you simply can't findanywhere else.

The art is acceptable but as with all things, there are still some that don't like the style. Personally I enjoyed it, the transitions were good and so where the scenes that exposed their views on the world giving unique feelings and air to the characters. The fight scenes were well thought out and the choreography evoked 'eye-gasms'.

One of the highlights of this anime has to be the soundtrack which gave their whole world a completely fresh feel. Have you ever been to a perfume shop and tested new perfumes, only for everything to smell the same a couple of minutes later? That was anime for me after a while and Samurai Champloo was the coffee that renewed my senses and allowed me to look at a new bottle with renewed interest and appreciation.

The characters are exquisite. Mugen is the badass, dumbass that has his own way of doing things. Jin is a smart, savvy, and stoic samurai that lives purely by his ideals. Fuu is simply the G.O.A.T. Quirky, improvisational, and somewhat intelligent adds a little bit of cayenne pepper to the show. Just enough to keep it fresh without making it over the top.

I ABOSUTELY LOVE THIS SHOW.
