Susumu x Minoru · review
Mochino Kome's writing is so good in this story, no parts wasted or lacking. The manga delves into fujoshi culture and the nature of bl demographics in a light-hearted way while Susumu's perspective is quite nice despite being the obvious straight man (in more ways than one) in the comedic parts. When it comes to stories where the bl manga chooses to tackle on bl culture through fujoshi and non-fujoshi characters, a lot of authors usually mishandle the balancing of their topics. Sometimes, the fujoshi parts take over and the romance is half-baked, or the romance is good but the fujoshi parts are just dressing. Inthis story, Susumu and Minoru's relationship is enhanced by the bl-centered comedy. It's a cute, slice-of-life comedy that I would recommend for people who already know much about bl culture.
