Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

I’ve gotta hand it to my Secret Santa from AnimePlanet—this manhwa was absolutely wild. It was dark, tragic, and gripping enough that you can’t help but want more, especially with nine college students trapped together in a collapsed building and struggling just to survive. From the beginning, I had a feeling Seongbin was the culprit. He was clearly a deeply broken person who had endured his stepfather’s violence every single day, and then the justice system failed him on top of that. It mirrors real life in a way—how some serial killers come from extremely traumatic environments that shape them into monsters. Of course, that neverexcuses harming innocent people, but it does make the story hit harder. I was actually surprised that Yujeong wasn’t involved; he seemed suspicious at first, but in the end he was just an overly anxious guy desperate to fit in. You can’t help but feel bad for him after everything he went through—he just wanted a normal life.
And honestly? I totally shipped Hyeseong and Hanna. I really thought those two opposites might end up together, but oh well—better luck next time, lol.

Even the detectives and Dr. Ju were pretty compelling characters.

My only real complaint is that the ending felt abrupt. I wish they had wrapped up all the survivors’ stories in a single chapter instead of scattering them across different ones. The constant back-and-forth between the nine students and Dr. Ju’s tragic past made the pacing feel a bit uneven too.
