What I wanted: A comedic, Slice of Life Romance anime to offset everything else I've been watching lately. What I got: A comedic, Slice of Life Romance anime to offset everything else I've been watching lately. Story (6/10): Nisekoi is the same story of an oblivious male main character and a cast of girls who are absolutely head over heels for him. While it's not an original concept, the execution is very well done and is enjoyable regardless of the fact. Art (8/10): Nisekoi's art never strikes me as particularly lazy, unfinished, or uninspired. While it's not groundbreaking, it is pleasant to look at and serves the purpose oftelling the story.

Sound (7/10):
While not very memorable, each piece of music is pleasant and fits the tune of the show. My only complaint is that there's not a surplus of tracks, and the music sometimes gets repetitive having heard it so many times.

Character (5/10):
Where Nisekoi falls shortest is in characterization. Each character is a "cardboard cutout" of various SoL anime tropes and frequently does little to deviate from the formulas already in place.

Enjoyment (10/10):
Despite the other scores, I enjoyed Nisekoi as much as I've enjoyed almost any other anime. I came in expecting it to be a show that didn't deviate from the norm and this exactly what I got.

Average of Scores (7.2/10)
My Overall Score (9/10)
What you see is what you get, and despite being unoriginal, Nisekoi shows that you can still take what's been done time and time again before and make it just as entertaining to watch.
