Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero
I'll admit I'm new to anime in general so maybe I don't have much room to talk but regardless here I go. Yes, the story feels rushed and even a bit cliche but c'mon, everyone loves that it's kinda the whole point. Some people don't like Naofumis' party because it's full of girls and some of them are lolis but that doesn't change the fact that they aren't helpless or constantly need saving. It's very clear from the beginning that he expects them to be strong he doesn't ask the world of them only their best. He loves them but not in a weird way(be gone Motoyasu) He sees them as equals and would do anything for them. Now, Naofumi is full of hatred, and rightfully so but instead of becoming the monster he's constantly being accused of being he uses that to push him to become better than his adversaries. Of course he's always right he has way more experience, a different mindset, and perspective than the other heroes, in other words, he's just built different. Honestly though the trials and experience he goes through make him wise and perceptive give him some credit the man has gone through enough. He's only able to turn those emotions into something good because of the people around him who WANT to fight beside him. Without them he would've given up and said heck everything but they make him want to be the shield hero (here comes a corny remark), They're his reason for living. Anyways that's my spiel.
