Review of No Game, No Life: Zero
This is a more gritty prequel to no game no life, and I enjoyed it. First of all, the animation is fantastic and the music is phenomenal. The soundtrack was probably the best thing about this movie by a long shot. I also enjoyed the story, HOWEVER... the HUGE issue with this movie is that it condenses what feels like an entire 12 episode anime season's worth of stuff into an hour and 45 minutes. This makes it so all of the big story beats are left feeling meaningless, and the characters don't get enough time to interact for any of the relationship milestones tofeel rewarding at all. Basically, this is a fun movie but moves WAYYYYYYY too fast for its own good. It has an interesting premise and a good base to build from, but it fundamentally fails to deliver.
