Review of Dorohedoro

I'd like to start off by saying that the rating of 6 shouldn't be taken as a "Don't watch" or that it is bad. I had to give it this simply because it wasn't really memorable to me. I watched it earlier this year, but I felt like I didn't really take much away from it and I'm not going to rate based off potential since that'd be even more speculative. Please keep that in mind. With all that being said, the show is interesting. The art is really great and a highlight for me. Additionally, all the characters are quite unique. Biggest downside is thestory which I find to be far from compelling. I don't feel excited for most of the characters except for a few such as Nikaido. Like I'm not watching this in anticipation of the MC finding his head so it's a bit of a dull reminder each time I have to remember that he's doing this or that in order to achieve his goal. However, his relationship with Nikaido and the other residents is charming and I really enjoyed watching those parts. On another note, the fighting and action scenes are great and very enjoyable especially towards the end of the first season where more and more action occurs.

Despite all that, I still completely forgot about this show. 12 episodes is quite too short. Normally, I'd excuse that as a reason as to why you should watch something since it's not a huge inconvenience, but in this instance, it just doesn't do the show justice since a lot more needs to be threshed out. They have set up the next season to look interesting as well and hopefully then there'll be more to remember that universe. Until then, any impact of the show just feels sort of like a draft.

Overall, I'd recommend waiting until the next season or two come out before deciding to watch it now. Again, I currently view it as a 6 since I easily forgot it and don't feel inclined to think much of it, but that doesn't indicate that it will forever remain a 6 especially as new seasons come out.
