Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

On the quest of searching for an anime that would break my heart and make me cry a river, I found one that heals my already broken and fatigued heart, episode by episode! :") I expected this anime to be pretty sad based off the various reviews I had known about. However, its not right to simply label Frieren: Beyond Journey's End a sad series. Its one with a great emphasis on melancholy. Each episode since the start has had this note etched into it and it does wonders for me cuz it makes my heart hurt just a little instead of breaking it piece bypiece lol. The plot is engaging due to the focus on not only the main quest but also the side quests. The pacing is perfect with lovable, fleshed out characters! the animation is absolutely gorgeous along with the soundtracks <3 all of this combined makes for an experience worth praising.

Upon completing the show, I'm filled with a great deal of pure satisfaction, happiness and excitement for whats to come next since this journey is far from finished. The First-class Mage Arc felt like a bit of a drag at the start of it but gradually pulled through by creating a healthy, fun and most importantly, unnecessary drama-free examination atmosphere!!

The way this show is the most perfect example of what I consider to be true fantasy is beautifully portrayed. Frieren and party going to different regions, having interesting encounters, keeping up their unique spirit, being formidably strong and maintaining their adorable dynamic is absolutely precious.

I'm so glad I watched this anime!! An absolute masterpiece <3
