Why not 10? - some of the characters lacked depth, and the ending was nice but felt hollow to me - as a character, Captain just seemed like a nice guy, but the fact he just went missing two times in the movie is crazy, so him being shipped, with the MC, felt weird, as both of them didn't had any romantic chemistry Why 9 then? - the story is really beautiful, with some characters having enough depth to give a sense of completion, not satisfaction- I really like the whole theme of the movie, with gliders and college friends

- this is my theory, but I think the ending seems unsatisfactory cause the story is itself incomplete (atleast for the movie), I am assuming they created a romantic bond, but it's not a romantic movie, maybe it's not supposed to show a forever-type bond, as they are just college students
