We don't treasure people sometimes until they become memories. The show embodies this truth in a most beautiful way by not making it sad but as the stepping stone towards something even more beautiful all while bearing them in the heart and enjoying the present. A literal feast when you are fed up with life that's just work and no play. It's a fantasy but so embedded in reality that it feels like us as we experience that nostalgia. The mc being an elf sets well with the premise, like many others who ain't elves but idly live out without realizing that life is meant tobe fun , not just a quest to fulfill. It delves deeper into this topic by not making it boring in any sense. After all even the idlest of lives are interesting.
