Review of Parasyte: The Maxim

This has easily become one of my favorite shows! With a lack of tropes, it tackles a lot of interesting concepts about humanity, the self, and society in general. Though I feel like there were a lot of questions asked, I don't feel the responses were always strait forward or even agreed with all of them, that being said I love a good show that tries, and doesn't just talk about what the answers could be. You're watching theories and questions play out. An example of this is ship of theseus played out through one of the characters, and as we see these changes we'reasked "what is humanity?" what is right and wrong? And so much more.

This show also offers body horror and some pretty gruesome fight scenes. When I say body horror I am talking about humans morphing in uncanny ways.

All in all the sound track, the animation, the characters, the story are all REALLY really well done. I highly recommend checking it out especially if you're watching anime with someone who doesn't like anime that's very generic.
