I remember randomly seeing this pop up on Netflix. You know, where you load Netflix up and it starts previewing a random show. It seemed kind of lame to me. But when I eventually decided to give it a go after a mate recommended it, and I ended up really liking the thing. Saiki K. has the power of telepathy, and a whole host of others. Always a gifted boy, but he never really cared for it. He's very dry and deadpan, despite his peculiar situation. The telepath doesn't want to bring attention to himself, particularly any attention regarding his powers. But despite his desire notto associate with people he develops a friend group throughout the show, including a girl crushing on him, mainly because he's the only dude not fawning over her (probably because he can see her muscles and bones most of the time they speak). It's a wholesome show despite the main character's standoffish behaviour, and he grows to like his friends, despite what he may say. I like the introduction of lore into the show as well, you learn more as it goes on. The introduction to his parent's relationship is funny but wholesome.

Saiki also never talks out of his mouth, he just does telepathy. And to normalize his weird hair colour he changed the timeline of the universe. He's a weird dude with a lot of power lmao. I like how Saiki always uses a "catch Phrase" for any of his super powers, it's amusing.

Also he has those weird thingies on his head to weaken his powers, to avoid any drastic consequences. He has brainwashed everyone to not think anything of them, but hopefully they aren't removed in any serious context right?

The episodes on Netflix are generic 20ish minutes, but they contain these little bite sized episodes as the 120 episode listing on MyAnimeList suggests. I like the quick gag humour that comes as a result, it suits the show well. Long 20 minute plots just wouldn't make sense for this anime.

The animation is fairly generic but it's good. The sound is nice. The music is good and fits the vibe of the show well. I think it gets a tad repetitive though.

Saiki K. is a must watch in my opinion, it's humour and quirkiness with a deadpan backdrop works well. But it isn't an immaculate anime by any stretch of the imagination, I just think for what it is you should give it a watch. I'd say it's an 8/10.
