Review of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online

This title is placed after the events from the mainline of GGO storyline. Personally, I was hoping to learn something new about this world. Why? Because the first half of SAO II 's episodes were really interesting and I wanted to know more. Sad to say that didn't happened. I would like to add, that I am a huge fan of most of anime and usually overrated them. Unfortunately to this series, at one point I even felt tired watching this. The first six episodes were pretty good. Another six were avarage. Many of the dialogues were quite funny. But the problem always started when thestory turned to the character of Pitohui. At moment like that there was a magical distortion of logic and physics, and the narrative of the episodes became chaotic. Really, if I had to point, what downgrades score of this anime, it's mainly character of Pitohui! She is so hopeless, annoying, overpowered for no reason, that she makes to the viewer feel really bad. Behind this character is standing just nonsense. There is a lot to say about other things as well, such as "talking rifle", but it would be a waste of time.

Plus, this ending. When in the real world the main character finally meets the person from Pithui's avatar, we learn nothing. She is presented like, deep talk about her problem of suicide didn't exist in the entire previous 6 episodes at all. I felt like, it was just a PRANK...

Summarizing my short opinion, if you are a fan of SAO then you have to watch it. However, don't expect to learn something new about the universe of this series. These few episodes can be play in the background, when after finished you will say that they were only "fine". To be honest, I had a better time, more laughed and enjoyed with the specials of SAO- Sword Art Offline.
