Review of The Ancient Magus' Bride
1) What is the title of this show? Mahoutsukai no Yome or The Ancient Magus' Bride 2) Is the show about the world the main character lives in? No. 3) Does comparing our moral or ethnic standards to the anime matter? No, its anime so why do it. 4) What is the show about? The main character. 5) Did I learn more about the main character? Yes. 6) Did I like the show? Yes, it was interesting. Do questions 2-6 matter? No, they don't make this anime better or worse. Because its more about how much did you enjoy watching the anime without having to think about questions 2 & 3.If you could not stop thinking about these two questions while watching the anime then it must have been that bad.
Because the title clearly shows its about the main protagonist, love isn't the anime's biggest focus and neither are the other characters or the world they live in, and they clearly live by a different standard, and do these things make the show bad? No, because its about how these aspects or things or whatever interact with the main character so that we may see a little more into our main character. These aspects or factors are just there in the story, but if there was something that bad then it must have been bad.
That previous question makes it sound like the anime is only about learning the main character, which makes it sound bad, but did the anime do a good job of doing that? In my opinion, it did, I enjoyed learning about someone else and their circumstances and the trials that are put before them. Because I believe the anime did a good job of not deviating from this main point, the main character.
