Review of Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic-
I've always been a big fan of this anime, so before watching I knew it was going to be good (and judging by its high score here, duh). So how was it? Did it live up to the expecation? HELL. YES. It went beyond. I won't spoil anything, so let me give a quick breadown. Story: 9/10 Before we get the our two MC's, let me just say the way the show has laid out the plot for its side characters is A freaking + stuff. The manga author really knows how to let other characters shine. Ishigama and Iino in particular got huge development, and I'm allfor it. There were also new characters introduced as well- they are good. Not special, but that's alright because lets be honest, we wanna see the star of our show- our two lovable idiot MC's- Miyuki and Kaguya. The story for the two shy love birds is so good. Builds nice and steady and has a really REALLY damn good finale. I can't say more or else I'll spoil it.
Animation: 10/10 for sure. No shortcuts were taken. Every character was taken with care. Smooth.
VA: 11/10 Yes, for once I am giving an 11/10. This show really knows how to use it's VA. Everyone does- I think probably the best VA job I've seen in a long time, if ever.
Characters: 10/10 And of course we get to our characters, and it's easily the BEST quality of the show. Everyone is unique and interesting. I touched it already in the story portion, but the author does such a fantastic job putting layers on top of each one. You can tell he really cares about every character. The only one I felt maaaybee fell a little short is Fujiwara, but it's alright. You can't fit them all. Anyways, the interactions between each other is amazing as always. They're hilarious and actually made me laugh out loud.
So should you watch this? 100% yes. This is the ultimate slice of life comedy that I haven't seen since maybe Toradora. You won't be disappointed!
