Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Sousou no Frieren, the show that broke all expectations and took the spotlight, rightfully so. There is a plethora of reasons why this show is so good: 1. The music and cinematography. Any show can have good animation but lack cinematography. Every scene of frieren feels so cinematic, and the music alleviates the scene to the next level. Every scene of this show feels meaningful. 2. This show has calm peaceful and relaxing adventures and action scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat. The animation is so well detailed and polished. The actions scenes look unbelievably well, better than some action anime. 3. The storyis really intriguing. There is a clear goal, but no hurry to achieve it. I have never seen any anime that is not a slice of life have this sort of goal. And the side quests are what make the story. After all, the journey is what matters the most, not the end goal. This anime has certainly given us a journey worth remembering.
4. The characters are so well written. Each one of them have a very interesting backstory, even some side characters. Though we may see them only for one episode, the backstory isn't forgotten easily. There is depth to every character. The characters behave in a very human like way, they feel real. none of those exaggerated reactions, no distasteful fanservice (which most anime is full of these days). It makes you want to relate to the characters.
5. It shows the importance of time. This show made me realize that I needed to spend more time with people who matter, family and close friends, and to make most of the time I was given. This anime shows us time from the perspective of an elf who lives a very long life (the main character). A few years can go by in an episode while not even a day will pass in other episodes. It shows us character growth in real time. It even shows the impact a person can have even after their passing.

All in all, this is a very well rounded show which excels in every aspect. No other anime had me this excited in a very long time. Frieren truly belongs at the top. It has a certain charm to it, a charm that no other anime has. Frieren Beyond Journey's end is one of the best anime I have ever watched. It's one of the only show that brought back the childhood joy and excitement of waiting for new episodes. This anime had an actual impact on my life. A long time has passed since I started watching this show. I started with skepticism in my heart, but this show soon won me over with its charm. Its very unique and will always have a special place in my heart. There's no other anime like this out there. I finished watching episode 28 today, and was left with the same feeling when Attack on Titan was over.
