Review of Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man came in swinging — literally — and honestly, it was a bloody good time. I’m a sucker for well-animated gore and clean fight choreography, and this show served both on a silver platter. MAPPA really flexed hard on the animation. From Denji’s messy brawls to Power’s chaotic entrances, everything felt sharp and alive. What kept me locked in was the story flow — it’s gritty, unpredictable, and kind of unhinged in the best way. Denji’s goals? Super questionable, but weirdly relatable. And the powers? Absolutely cool. The devil system, contracts, all that dark twisted energy — loved it. But if I had to nitpick, it’sthe lack of backstory for some of the side characters. I wanted more depth, especially for folks like Aki and Himeno. They had so much potential, and the show just moved too fast to really dig into their layers.
Still, I had a blast. Chainsaw Man might not be for everyone, but if you like dark themes, blood flying in every direction, and a story that doesn’t follow typical shounen rules, this one hits different.
