Review of Horimiya
Horimiya is a really solid anime! It has a cool OP, crisp animation, good protagonists, and just an overall genuine vibe. It's also one of the very few rom-com anime that doesn't tease the "will they, won't they" scenario to death, which I appreciate. However, there is one problem with Horimiya - it doesn't have enough time to fully develop. When I reached the end I felt like I'd only scratched the surface of getting to know these characters and their stories, especially Hori and Miyamura. And that makes me wish that one of two things would've been done... 1. The addition of more episodes. 13episodes is just not enough time to develop a whole cast of characters like Horimiya has. You can only scratch the surface with such limited time. If their goal was to develop the whole cast they should have done at least 24 episodes.
2. Putting the focus solely on Hori & Miyamura. With only 13 episodes most of the screen time should've been dedicated to the titular couple. I didn't mind the other characters, but Hori & Miyamura were the reasons I was watching. I wanted to get to know their characters more and see their relationship develop more too.
To summarize, Horimiya is 100% worth the watch. It's down-to-earth, funny, and just an all-around good anime. My only complaint is that it didn't have more episodes or a more focused approach. Because if it would've had it would've been beyond special.
