I completely get the direction they were going for, and it works. No one would ever think that a robot anime would fit in with a slice of life anime, but this studio succeeded. This studio succeeded in delivering excellent character development and a chill slice-of-life vibe while maintaining the sci-fi plotline. Each character was interesting and had their own personal problems that were unique to one another, which were individually covered and expressed fabulously within the time frame given. The fact that the series dived deep into each character's family perspective constantly showed what the characters were thinking and feeling at the moment, which alsomakes us enjoy the journey of watching them grow mentally through the problems they have to face and appreciating their results.

The soundtrack fits the atmosphere quite well in every episode, and the opening/ending is just downright gorgeous.

Sadly, the story's pace and plot aren't very engaging for the first half of the series, making it quite dull and boring at first. But, it was essential for it to lead to the second half, which explained why the first part was also important.

In short, one of my favorite slice of life anime I've ever watched. It is definitely not for everyone, but it certainly will hold a special place in my heart—a solid 8/10.
