Review of [Oshi No Ko]

What a splendid anime! What a fantastic start! I begin this review by stating categorically that Oshi no Ko will certainly be among the best anime of this year. Its epilogue in the first episode much longer than usual was one of the best things I watched this year, making me put the anime at the moment as a masterpiece. In fact it was an impactful start as if the anime wanted to say that it is there to mark an era. And I would say that he did. What really took the 10 out of this anime was its small numberof episodes. The anime has its main plot that is established at the end of the first episode (this plot is quite exciting) but to be developed it first needs a focus on sub-plots of non-main characters.

These subplots are done in a very good way, the characters here are spectacular, very believable and with archetypes that work. Everything is very well thought out by the author (and what a great author). But even though everything was very well done, I felt a lack of urgency in the script in wanting to touch on more of the main plot and, combined with the lack of quality of the responsible studio (I am not criticizing the great work done as much as possible by the studio) I took the maximum note in this anime. And I believe this would be better handled, or corrected if there were more episodes (or maybe I became a fanboy and just wanted more content anyway haha)

Whether in comic relief or dramatic peaks, everything is done in a natural and organic way and with a deep message in each character arc. Oshi no Ko makes us think a lot after each episode ends, which is a rare quality in anime nowadays.

Technically speaking, the anime made the most of the studio's qualities. Here's a daydream of mine: I believe that if this anime fell into the hands of the chaotic combination Shaft/Shinbou we would have a legendary masterpiece. But the Doga Kobo was quite competent at the job.

Ultimately, Oshi no Ko became an essential anime and will eventually become an industry classic. I highly recommend!
