Read my previous review for season 1 if you want my full review. I just want to say that this show is clearly spectacular for being able to make the mundane practicing and playing golf exciting. There's no drama. There's no superpowers involved. Nobody's parents died playing golf and nobody is secretly related to each other to create artificial drama. Nobody is driving 450 yards on their first stroke as a 12 year old kid. It's amateur women's golf where every stroke is realistic and the results are too. This reminds me of Hikaru no Go in a good way. It's about a kid who isobsessed and introduced to the competitive sport of golf. The anime is able to show its true colors by merely creating good characters, monologuing, and pacing when it comes to golf play by play. Not every hole in a three-day tournament is showcased of course, but this show is very deliberately slow. One tournament takes over 6 episodes, and many holes are shown and all the golfer's playstyles and personalities shine through their play. All of the rival players have their own aspirations and goals, and that's what makes it so fun.

I will admit that if this was shown to me without the first season, I'd declare it garbage. After all, Tonbo is a little bit of a cheat and kind of overpowered. Still, with how slow-paced the first season was and how I got to see Tonbo develop her golf skills, I got nothing to say. The show takes baby steps are showing Tonbo's development as a child all the way to her first year of high school where she competes in her first tournament, and so she's endearing rather than a brat in my eyes. The only complaint is that Igaiga takes a back seat in this season, which is a bit annoying since he is the only other main character.

Apparently the manga is ongoing and has OVER 51 DAMN VOLUMES! I doubt the sales of this show is going to go super well, but I can only hope that it keeps on getting adapted. There needs to be more shows like this.
