While the concept is not by any means original, Tamayura is such a beautiful story. The pacing is wonderful and easy going; it leaves the reader with the same feeling as a slice of life manga by the end of it. Yuki put together this piece really well - and it's only five chapters long. I would highly recommend this read, however don't go into it expecting too much. Nothing unexpected happens. Life is life, right? Things happen... everyone just has to deal with the cards that they're given. There was nothing particularly extraordinary about any of Tamayura - except perhaps the undeniable yet subtlekindness/selflessness of two of the characters. It is portrayed as an ordinary story, and that's what gave the it a sense of honesty looking back at it now.

I don't want to spoil the manga by mentioning any of the plot. But, the joy of reading Tamayura really lies in Yuki's gentleness when creating this piece of work.

Only five words are really needed to describe Tamayura, and they are: a beautiful and sweet melancholy.
