This is a prequel to the original Mobile Suit Gundam series which shows the origin of Char Aznobol as well as a few of the other legacy characters from the original anime. And as a prequel I think it's pretty good. I don't know if it was absolutely necessary, but it wasn't bad either. It definitely didn't ruin anything in the original. Similar to what I said about Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island, the movie that remade an episode from t he original, it was nice to see these classic characters back again, except this time it actually did addstuff to them, especially to Char. Not much to Amuro, but it was still cool to see him again for the little bit of time that we actually did.
