Renegade immortal is an absolutely horrifyingly boring novel for the first 60 chapters or so until wang lin gets into a martial competition. His cheat item is very broken and downright overpowered compared to other cultivation novel mcs ive seen such as su mings diety stone ( which basically only lets him start cultivating ) and fang yuans spring autumn cicada ( rarely ever used throughout the novel and causes more problems than benefits after the first arc ). After this the novel gets a little more bearable when he starts to show his cultivation and his mountain gets attacked by surrounding sects etc,but once he gets his ji realm by embracing situ nans teachings the book just becomes completely boring. He wins almost every fight with people of the same realm instantly and he can instantly kill anybody with a thought. There are no stakes and wang lin just continues to get more and more broken.

TLDR; boy has horrible talent for cultivation and gets humiliated for being born with zero talent. Boy gets heaven defying bead that lets him cultivate at 10x speed ( later upgraded to 100x speed ) and sell spirit water for exorbitant prices. Boy quickly becomes op and unlocks forgetten death realm pwoers that lets him instantly kill all his enemies with a thought and face slaps people 1 major realm above him with no consequences.

I will say its posible for er gen to save the novel at the point that i am at now, and wang lins cahracter has the potential to be more interesting but he seems more itnerested in writing wang lins cultivation powers and looting broken items from peoples bags of holding. All in all its not horrible if you want a below standard power fantasy cultivation slop, but youd better spend your time reading an actually good cultivation like shadow slave, Pot or Ri
