Our Sweet One-Room Apartment · review
The story has a generic premise with similarly generic main characters and plot beats. If you want something original or nuanced, I don't think you'll get it here. The plot, as it is, is also very silly, a generic and ordinary miscommunication that has been used repeatedly in BL. It's something that's more than a bit annoying at times, especially because it is someone (in this case the uke) making problems where there is none (without any communication) The plot beats are also as generic as it gets. There's a period where both parties are feeling bad, there's a little blip of jealousy, there's the usual'oh no am I hurting my partner', etc.
And yet, the execution here works well. Everything is cute and adorable without creating TOO much friction. I feel like there are moments where the story can be a bit MORE emotional, but this is offset by the cute little details and tender gestures between the two of them.
Everything runs as it should. This can be good or bad; I choose to view it as a good thing.
All in all it's still a cute, adorable story that is absolutely enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it.
