Review of Blue Period
What is dreams and how far are you willing to go too achieve them thats some questions we get answered through the story of blue period I will now talk about why i think blue period is such a amazing manga and anime and hopefully convince you too read it or watch it by the end Second-year high school student Yatora Yaguchi is a delinquent with excellent grades, but is unmotivated to find his true calling in life. Yatora spends his days working hard to maintain his academic standing while hanging out with his equally unambitious friends. However, beneath his carefree demeanor, Yatora does not enjoy either activityand wishes he could find something more fulfilling.
One night Yatora finds himself staring at a vibrant landscape of Shibuya. Unable to express how he feels about the unusually breathtaking sight, he picks up a paintbrush, hoping his thoughts will be conveyed on canvas.
After receiving praise for his work, the joy he feels sends him on a journey to enter the extremely competitive Tokyo University of the Arts—a school that only accepts one in every 200 applicants.
Facing talented peers, a lack of understanding of the fine arts, and struggles to obtain his parents’ approval, Yatora is confronted by much adversity.
In the hopes of securing one of the five prestigious spots in his program of choice, Yatora must show that his inexperience does not define him.
Relatability
i find blue period too be one the manga which i have imagined being the main character at some point in the story
not because he is some buff greek gud in a fighting tournament but becuase he is like me someone who have no idea what he wants too do in the future, no idea whats his dreams are, he has no Ambitions
until he found that one thing which he loves too do.
and i am sure that is not only me who been there wondering what my future will be like and what i will be doing
and you will feel like that until you find your ambition for yatora his abitions is art
yatora is also a very hard working student who always trys too improve and puts in more work then others do because of that he is always stressing and feels pressure over himself
and it isn´t only yatora that is relatable becuase there is so many more relatiable characters in this story
for exampel yatoras friend yotasuke takashashi is someone you can easly relate to he is really reserved ans has a shy personality even do he is shy he has complete confindence in his art skills and isn´t afraid to admit it
he is relatable for most people because even if you dont are as confindence as him you might be shy and reserved and the other way
i think that blue period did an outsatnding job at making characters which you can see yourself in and just relate to them overall.
Dreams
dreams are something we all have even if you have a small dream or a big dream, you have a dream
and you want to achieve that dream right? why would have you have that dream if not
Dreams are something that are being shown perfectly in this story do too the fact that this story is about dreams and how much hard work you are willing to put into making them come into reality
and yatora shows what it takes too make your dreams come to life
he shows that you cant just sit around and do nothing and expet your dreams too become reality
he shows that dreams come true if you put enough hard work into mastering your craft and that you have too do everything too get what you want
thats one of my favorite features with yatora how hard working he is and seeing him work so hard makes me want to work harder and pushing myself too higher levels
and its not just yatora who makes you feel that because i feel that kuwana shows that asspect really well too
do to the fact that she is always working hard too live up to her expectations
i feel like blue period makes you feeling like working harder after seeing others work so hard for their goals
expectations
expectations is a thing everyone has exprienced somehow in life
it can be that your parent has expectations that you will get good grades in school or whatever it may be
expectations isn´t something easy too handle, it can put you in a bad mood if you don´t feel like you have achieved the expectations that were pushed on you
someone who pictures expectations amazing in blue period is maki kuwana who was a member of the cram school yatora attened
Although kuwana looks positive, energetic and a bit eccentric, Maki suffers from an inferiority complex towards her older sister. and the heavy burden too live upp too her expectations
her sister is someone who did every art piece and exam with ease and always got the higest grade on top of that have her whole blood line being acceptede into tokyo university of artists.
And now everyone has the expectations that she will be like her sister and get into the universty
but with all these expectations comes a burden who makes you think less of yourself and think that you can´t do things which you normally can do
it makes you with lower of yourself.
as someone with two older brothers i can see her struggle and see why she suffers so much from expectations. even tho i dont have such extrem and hard expectations as kuwana has i can still understand her
Kuwana was someone who i think were neccesery too the story and too show that someone with talent isn´t always that happy
expressing yourself
expressing yourself may be a hard task for people too do regardless if its because your scared or that you dont know what say it or how to say it
Art lets you express yourself in a diffrent way then if you just say it outloud
and you can cleary see that in one of my favorite panels of the manga
where yatora makes a sketch of his mother while she is cocking and while he is doing that he realises so many things which he havent done before
like how her hands are rough because she cleans the dishes with hot water or how the food always rotates between meat and fish each day and how she is always eating the worst parts of the dishes
and how she is doing all that just because of her familys well being
and yatora would have never seen that if he hadent drawn that picture
its lets you see more details and express yourself in a diffrent and more exiting way
Now i hope that i have convinced you too watch or read blue period because
there is a lot of more amazing details you will seen when you read it and then you will realise why blue period is such a good story
i have changed myself after reading it or at least gott another mind sett and begun too think about things in a way i didnt do before
now this is only my second review so i hope i did an okay job at explaing everything:D
i will end it with one of my favorite quotes from blue period
and it is I don´t understand the beauty of a Picasso painting. Couldn´t i paint something like that? - Yatora Yaguchi
