Review of given

I'm myself a musichead and a bass player , which is also a part of the reason I liked this show . The one thing I can vouch for in this show is that it is not the super melodramatic highschool band fiasco you'd think it is. Neither is music the only part of the lives of the characters of this show . Being in a band is depicted quite realistically , and nothing feels fictional about it. Plot (6/10) I really love the sequence and ways in which the whole story of the anime is executed. It's more on the intricate side . It extendsbeyond the reach of a particular niche or group , justifying its diverse genre range. The way they portrayed a "band" was pretty realistic . Alot of you maybe discarding it because of the shounen ai genre it has , but the relations it shows are meaningful and well developed . the development of these relations take place in a complex and long ways , and are definitely not meaningless . there is nothing weird or cringey , it's all very natural .
I did find some particular plot points of the show of little sense . Some parts were predictable , and some were less believable . You may think how I just contradicted myself with that line , but what I mean to say is that , if I talk about how they showed the existence and functioning of a band , it was realistic . But , certain points in the backstory and plot as a whole were less believable .

Characters (7/10)
The protagonist is not the only focus of character development . The show really did a top tier job in character development of the protagonist and the other main characters . However , while development is good , the raw personality of many characters is chilchè . Some characters are not explained properly , and the limelight falls on the main characters alone.

Enjoyment (7/10)
I did feel like the pacing was a bit too slow. However , apart from that the enjoyment was good .

Animation (9/10)
MAN the animations of this show . The guitars , drums , bass , stage setup , and the characters were wonderfully animated . You could literally make out all the pedals of the guitarist on the pedalboard including distortion , overdrive , delay and all . The drummer was not just playing anything in animation and something else in audio . Incredible animations.

this anime is definitely a fun ride . If you're interested in bands and music , its a must watch for you . Even if you aren't , its still interesting .
