All human long for the same things, even if they don't want to admit it, we long for family and a place to call home. If I have to pick one word to describe this anime overall, it would be "magical." The visual of this anime is outstanding, one of the best I've seen. It knows how to be beautiful when it needs to be and it captures the dark moment magically. The magic in it is beautiful in it's own too. If you're watching this anime for magical fights and stuff, then it isn't really that. I believe the magic is more for advancingthe plot but I don't think the anime would've been as magical without it. It would still be good but it'll just be your typical love story between two human. This is a story about a monster trying to understand what it means to be human and a human who is treated as a monster being treated as a human (man that was hard to say lol).
I had this on my watchlist for a long time but I completely forgot about it, but after watching it, I wish there was more. It is a magical experience that you can only get the first time experiencing it and boy it was a wonderful experience. Chise is such a wonderful lead character who's so complex and not only her, every single character is so unique in their own right, from the main to the supporting cast. I couldn't think of a single character I hated at all.
I think this is a must watch for those who love romance and love and also one about self realization, then you probably will end up loving this anime. Do watch the 3 OVA too, I would recommend watching them right after episode 13 because that's kind of where they fit in.
