The first thing that I noticed watching Devilman Crybaby was the unique artstyle. Honestly I think the artstyle was quite tacky and the movements of the characters were literally out of a 2000s video game (the running scenes were horrible ngl) but the expressiveness that comes from the artstyle makes it easier to ignore the tackiness. The tackiness even makes it more expressive and ooh chills, it was aesthetically pleasing yet confusing to look at. Onto the story. As a whole I thouroughly enjoyed it. The fact that all the loose pieces of strings all get tied together in the last episode was so satisfying, evenif I didn’t understand what was going on at first. Though there were too many sexual scenes for my virgin eyes🙈 but yknow i guess they added to the uh darkness of the show?
Also I loved the plot twist, call me a naiive carpetface but I didn’t expect it at all and it got me shook, I’d personally say that the ending was a masterpiece. I don’t think I’ll ever find a better ending than that, the show sent me into existential crisis and I love the suffering.

In conclusion, there were many flaws in Devilman Crybaby but it gave me the feels so I rated it higher. 8/10 would join the cult of spiking people to sticks and dancing around a burning building.
