Yuuki Yuuna Is A Hero: The Hero Chapter continues the great writing that the prequal series and the end of season 1 had. It fixes most of the issues that season 1 had and I am shocked by that considering that this is half the length of season 1. Most importantly, I think the characters all react appropriately to the situations they find themselves in (which I felt like most of season 1 was missing). The character writing also feels a lot tighter this time around so I actually get more of a feel of what sort of people the original 5 girls are. They alsokeep the characterization of Nogi Sonoko in line with how she was presented in the prequal series. I also really like how they progress Yuuki Yuuna's character here, with her not being able to solely rely on her friends in the same way she was in the first season. I still feel as though Inubouzaki Itsuki is the weakest written of the main characters, but I think they do a better job of characterizing her as more than just "cute little sister" in this season.

Overall, Yuuki Yuuna Is A Hero: The Hero Chapter is another damn good part of the Yuuki Yuuna Is A Hero series. It takes all the good elements from season 1 and the prequal series and continues to improve upon them which ends up resulting in a damn fine show.
