People seem to either hate this anime or love it. I've yet to see a review that is inbetween and I'm not gonna be the one to write it. I love this show. The story is nothing groundbreaking, but it is done very well and ties everything up extremely nicely in only 12 episodes. You'll be left with no questions and with a feeling of happiness at a journeys end. The animation is beautiful. There are no big fights or intense space flights, but everything is drawn wonderfully clean and the style is nice and distinct. The music is used very well in the moments that need tension andexcitement. The soundtrack is superb and is very uplifting. I listen to it on my own time. Ultrafast Engine (The main theme) is in my workout playlist.

The characters are very archetypal. There is no other way to describe them, but they are not bound to there original self. Each of them grows over the course of the show, some more than others and I ended up liking them all.

You can probably find flaws or nitpicks throughout that might bother you. Some say their journey was too easy and that they had no real hardship, but to me it isn't about that.

This show is fun. That's the main takeaway for me. You can expect tension, but the main enjoyment I got from this show is just how fun the whole adventure was.

Overall Astra: Lost in Space is one of the most fun shows I have had the pleasure of watching and I recommend the Funimation dub A LOT. Josh Grelle did a fantastic job as Kanata and the rest fit their characters perfectly.
