I based my ratings on a re-watch factor, this movie kept me entertained from the first few seconds right until the end credits. I usually fail to be interested in this director's movies but he finally was able to impress me. The emotion of losing the only people you loved and cared for, to find and trust a new person, to accept that life is different can be quite confusing in a lot of media but in Bakemono no Ko it is done absolutely right. I would recommend this movie to any novice anime lover right through to the old-heads, it is a must watch.
